So Liljegren and Kampf are heading out

Keep Timmins thats how bright this organization is

I guess their thinking is
Timmins is better offensively than Liljegren
Hakanpaa is better defensively than Liljegren

Both of them cost less than one Liljegren.

Makes sense to me. They can always beef up the D at the deadline.

I like our play after 2 periods, just hit a bunch of posts and crossbars.

Leafs are outshooting Montreal 25-12 at 5 on 5.  Plus three posts.  I'm fine with this game.  Early season games should be viewed on effort rather than outcome

I get "The Fear" anytime Timmins is near the puck, I just don't see it with him. He doesn't move well, isn't particularly physical and is never going to get the opportunity to use whatever offensive skill he has.

He gives me strong TJ Brennan vibes.

I can't say that Liljegren hasn't been given chances, but I don't know why they'd be in a hurry to deal him.  I'd like to see how he does under Berube.  Of course, they may be keen to move him because Berube doesn't like him.

I'd like to see Timmons and Liljegren rotate every game. Also rotate OEL an Reilly on the 1PP every game.  Then let see how things workout.

That makes sense to me, at least for awhile.

I hope Berube is willing to bench the top unit when they play like that on the PP.  that was a lazy effort that drained the momentum from the start of the period

Montembault was good but it was really lackluster night offensively.  Matthews really looked ordinary.  Knies I thought had a good 3rd period.  Marner was the best of the forwards.
