Central Scoutings final draft rankings....

Leaf have 3 good goalie prospects whilst they still have two potential starters in Bernier and Reimer.  Good goalie prospects are available usually in the later rounds.
Not knocking it Nik just saying there are probably many very good goalies that do go undrafted O'Conner being one of them. If a suitable goalie prospect comes up in the 5th or further rounds by all means draft them.

The only undrafted starters/1B type goalies in the league right now are Niemi, Bobrovsky, Hiller, Talbot, Hammond, Lack, and Scrivens. It's a decent pool of goalies but the best ones (Niemi, Bobrovsky, and Hiller) all came from Europe. The NCAA doesn't exactly have a great track record when it comes to undrafted goalies (or even just players in general really).

How many really good, consistent goalies are there in the NHL right now who went undrafted? How many legit #1's with more than a half-season of solid work?

Hammond's been good for 24 games. That's not something that should drive decision making.

I'm not sure how to track it, but I wonder how many teams Hammond has seen a second or third time since he's been starting.  Just wondering if he'll be a little easier to beat once teams/players are more familiar with his style and tendencies.  I suppose we'll find out in the playoffs.

He's only started more than one game against three teams, the Leafs, Rangers and Habs. In those second games he played pretty well though, allowing only 4 goals on 93 shots.

Third time is a charm.
