I mean, I don't know how I feel about that exactly. I kind of want the show to be apolitical but I don't disagree with Sid. [emoji2369]

Can someone explain why Sid and a bunch of the reporters on CP24 are now doing their bits from home.

In the full clip, Sid mentioned he was in quarantine/isolation.

They may be positive? Have to isolate because of their kids or spouse?

I figured there would be some positive cases about or an exposure that caused isolation.  Just struck me odd that some were still on site while others were now at home.

Agree or disagree with Sid, he's an asshat. Calm down man. You take the weight out of what you're saying by beating your chest and stomping your feet.

Haha I'd have said assclown but asshat will work just fine

I think being pretty frustrated with it is understandable.

Sure, frustration is an emotion that I think most of us have felt regarding Doug Ford and his method of playing the political game. We've also known for a while that he talks out of both sides of his mouth.

My point is this:

There was a storm in Toronto. Doug Ford used it to say "Look at me, vote for me". Sid then used Doug Ford's antics to say, "No, look over here at me! I'm stomping my feet". All in all, they're using a storm in Toronto to try and gain hits/votes. Doug Ford being an idiot doesn't make Sid any less of one.

While I don?t care for Sid?s rants in general I think you are really creating a false equivalency in comparing his complaints about Ford grandstanding to try and sway votes to continue to be an outright incompetent jackass to a man who cohosts a breakfast show.  One is a guy who does stuff for entertainment?they other one is directly responsible for us being back to rationing hospital beds.

We could also maybe talk about the fact that the person he was ?digging out? was his press secretary Ivana Yelich.

I didn't even particularly mean frustration with Ford and his usual antics. I think it's understandable how frustrated he was with the media for going along with it.

I was never a big Tim and Sid fan in large part because I felt Sid would sometimes rant like this about a bad call to end a hockey game or a decision not to fire a coach or something like it was World War 3 but I never got the sense that it was disingenuous and he was "using it" to draw attention.

So I guess my point is that while I'm not going to try to talk anyone into liking Seixeiro's sort of thing, I don't think there was anything dishonest about it in the way that I think both Ford's actions, and the coverage of it, came off a little Potemkin Village-y.

Like I said, I'm not going to debate Ford's idiotic behaviour. He's an idiot. It's well established. My only real point is I think Sid's antics distract from the point he's trying to make. Or perhaps it's just me that tunes out when people stomp their feet and yell.

It's not just you. I'm the same way. I have zero time/sympathy for complainers and whiners.

I think he has a valid point. It's his delivery that throws me.

This could've been a storyline in Veep.

The story was immediately boosted by Yelich's partner, Toronto Sun's Brian Lilley. You might remember him from:

I?m finding these numbers disturbing. The fully vaccinated make up the majority of the people in the hospitals and ICUs. I don?t know what this means but this certainly is going to give ammo to the anti vaccination crowd.

1) Unvaccinated people make up 40% of the people in hospitals and ICUs despite the fact that unvaccinated adults in Ontario are only like about 10% of the population. You're still significantly more likely to wind up in the ICU if you're unvaccinated.

2) Fully vaccinated people are still headed to the ICU now because what they're "fully vaccinated" against is version of COVID-19 from 1-2 years ago. There's enough data to suggest that two doses of the vaccine were incredibly effective against what COVID used to be, but they aren't as effective against what COVID has mutated/evolved into. The definition of what being fully vaccinated means is pretty outdated at this point. The antivax crowd is absolutely going to mock the idea of us needing more boosters and whatnot but that's just the reality we're in.
