Devils @ Leafs - Mar. 23rd, 7:30pm - SNO, TSN 1050

Devils are going with their back-up, Keith Kinkaid, tonight. Kinkaid is 1-5 in his last 6 games with a .877 save percentage.

Could be a tank-move, although Schneider's recent stats aren't much better. 1-6-2 in his last 10 starts with a .896 save percentage.

Light'em up, Leivo  :D

I'm going to the game tonight, haven't seen one live in years.  Any tips on where to park close to the ACC, with a greater priority on convenience than price?

I live across the street from the ACC.  From a convenience perpective, it depends on what your priorities are (as you've stated price isn't the top one):

- walking distance
- speed of leaving after the game

To answer your question... which direction do you head afterwards?

I'm driving in from Gerrard and Pape and have to return my friend to his car there afterwards, if that helps.

Indeed it does- heading eastbound means a lot that is east of the arena is best.

The place I'd suggest you park is in the surface lot behind the Toronto Star Building.  Its a bit more of a walk, but getting out of there is relatively painless compared to parking in my building complex (16 Harbour St.).  Any of the parking lots closer (ie 60 Harbour, Maple Leafs Square underground, or Green P at Bay/Lakeshore) are a pain to get out of after.

This is my go-to lot - it's only a short walk to the arena, it's not that difficult to get out, and is actually decently priced compared to other lots in the area:

Polak got 2 games for that hit... he is out.

So, Marincin ou Marshenko ?

Babcock specifically mentioned that Marchenko would be available in the pre-game scrum today.

Devils 6-0, then, with massive traffic jam afterwards.  Shrimp forced to sleep in his car.

Kinkaid in net for Devils, he actually has a better save % than Schneider albeit in far fewer games played.

We should be okay. He's not from the GTA.

No joke, I looked him up to see where he was from.  NJ also not on a back to back either so I was surprised.  I guess why play Schnieder every non-BTB game if your playoff hopes are out the window and tank mode should be engaged.

Haha, it was the first thing I did when I heard it wasn't Schneider.
He's their Garret Sparks.

I forgot about the tank-scenario, but there's no "sure thing" in this draft like the last few years.  I guess Patrick is the consensus #1, but he's not being talked about in the same vein as Matthews, Eichel or McDavid so I dunno.

I don't think it matters who's available in the draft- you still want to improve your possibility of winning a lottery spot or, if you don't win, not falling too far from the Top 6 positions.  Arizona is only 3 pts back and a couple of win's moves the Devil's from 28th in the standings to 25th in the standings.  Even in a weaker draft, I'd rather draft 4th than 7th.

People aren't talking about Patrick as being a sure bet star player like McDavid or Matthews but I think consensus is pretty strong that he's going to be a good NHL player.

Either way, they said more or less the same thing about the Ekblad draft. You never know.

With Sosh and Fehr out and Leivo in, I'm wondering what Babcock does with the PK.  Prior to last night Babcock was going with a steady cycle of Hyman, Komarov, Brown, and Sosh with Boyle mostly doing FOGO.  Most of the season he's tried rolling with 5 forwards in that manner.  When Fehr went in for Sosh that didn't surprise me at all... Leivo isn't going to PK and Fehr is right handed and takes face-offs.

Now that Fehr is out does he trim it to just the 4 guys above?  Out of the guys in the lineup this evening, Martin has the next most PK time on the team followed by.... Marner.

I think Martin on the PK won't happen.  The reason Boyle does FOGO is he's slow and the Leafs play a high-pressure PK that rely's on speed.

Anyways, all that to say I'm actually hoping Marner gets some limited minutes on the PK tonight.  I think he'd be very effective on the PK long-term for the Leafs.

I'm surprised that Kadri doesn't see more time killing penalties. Last season Babs even mentioned wanting to transition Kadri into a PKer for this season.

I'd actually like to see what Matthews could do on the PK. He's such a beast on the puck. Put him and Marner out there and watch the SHG's pile up... 8)

This is a game they had better win so GO LEAFS GO!
