Well, this is sucking.  Some team needs to set up to the plate and gift us the number 1 d-man our destiny requires.

Here's the list of UFA defensemen signed this offseason. I'm having a hard time finding a name that is currently, or projected to be better than Lindholm.
 
I suppose if we want to be super pedantic about it Hedman did sign an extension this summer but boy howdy are we not focusing on the larger point here.

The "None are as good as Lindholm" line from that article was specifically talking about Lindholm's recent comparables: Rielly, Jones, and Ristolainen. And yes, none of them are as good as Lindholm.

Ah you're right. My reading was a couple of hours ago and I got the RFA/UFA injustice on my mind more.

I remember being very happy, but super surprised by Rielly's contract. Mostly because of the Ekblad deal, and measuring against good players in UFA.
