I just don't understand Mclaren over Ashton. Even in a limited fourth line role it doesn't make sense.

From a strategic standpoint I agree. I will, however, admit to a sentimental fondness for seeing Flyers get punched in the face.

As in Hartnell.

"Entitled to nothing (Leafs fans and a competent forward corps) grateful for everything (getting paid for 4:00 minutes of playing time)"

I see the Flyers can sit on Leafs players when there is a scoring chance and that's fair game.  It killed that last play and prevented them from bringing the puck back into the zone.

And yet I have it on good basis that there are frequent games where Notre Dame doesn't play like a champion. Shenanigans! I call Shenanigans!

Yeah, so crash the net.  Mason has been giving up rebounds on every single play.

JVR looks fantastic.

Evening all. I've missed a week's worth of Leafs hockey. Seems not much has changed. Couple of goals on the rush and now spending a lot of time in our own zone.

I don't like that goaltender interference call.  Only for the fact that if that puck goes in, they likely just waive off the goal and do nothing.  But because the Flyers didn't score, they call a penalty.

Actually it's been a pretty good period for the most-part.  There have been two not-so-great shifts but otherwise I think the Leafs have controlled a lot of the play.

Except the whistle went before the shot.

Rielly looks superb. And Kadri's shot was pretty sexy.

(I only sat down to watch about ten minutes into the period so my first impressions may have been not perfect)
