Save for kessel and at times Lupul and Grabovski the Leafs have NO offense

Not disputing you here at all, but I'd get rid of the "at times" in front of Lupul considering he's tied for 7th in league goal scoring.

If we're going to add Grabovski to the short list of players providing offense we should also add Liles (who has as many points as Grabo does) and Phaneuf (who has two more points.)  Really though, Grabo's production to date has been rather disappointing as with that entire line... Here's hoping they pick it up.

To be fair, my favorite player the last two seasons was Kulemin.  I can't believe how crap he's has been.  He's always been snakebitten when it comes to scoring but it used to be impossible to get the puck off of him at the boards.  Last night Da Costa bumped him off the puck and skated away with it and Kulemin just watched him skate away.  This guy needs to get some fire going in a hurry.  I think he's holding the entire Grabbo line back.  Also I would mind throwing Grabbo with Kessel and Lupul for a few games just to pot a few goals.

This young team still has much to learn, I was excited with the great start, but that doesnt appear like it will last the way they are playing.

I didn't expect as much from the Grabbo line this season. Teams would pay more attention to them than they did last year and study how to stop them.

The emergence of Kessel & Lupul playing so well offensively has also had an effect. Grabbo's line isn't getting as much ice time as they did nor have they been the first PP unit like they were at times last year.

That would be part of my reasoning for the drop in their scoring but it doesn't explain all of it.

I think Kulemin has been working hard in general and has been snake bit some.

Wilson talked about the team getting away from "their game" after the game. I don't think that happens in isolation - the other team has something to do with it. This is the second time Ottawa has been able to shut them down coming through the neutral zone. Ditto for Boston and Florida.

I think Wilson better wake up to that notion and help them find a way around that sort of checking. It's stopping them from using their speed and this team's forwards are too lacking in physical ability to try to grind with other physical teams.

The Leafs have fallen to 13th in points win%. Problems like the above and the PK have to get addressed or they'll be on the outside looking in at a playoff spot soon.

They face two more pretty good and similar defensive clubs in Phoenix & Nashville this week and then have to face the Caps who are arguably the best club in the league or right up there.

With that schedule, at the 20 game mark, things may not look so rosy for Ron in spite of an excellent start. He's got to find a way to correct this quickly and squeeze some points out of these upcoming games.

Some of the Grabbo problems is the over-passing when in shooting position. Grabbo himself loves the backhand/drop pass...to the opposition...

Is there not a stat out there that compares wins and losses on nights with long drawn out ceremonies, such as last night's Hall of Fame ceremony? IIRC, the losses outweigh the wins on those nights by a large margin - If I'm remembering it properly.

When Connolly returns I wouldn't mind seeing him centering the 3rd line between Frattin and Lombardi. Not as a punishment to TC, but as an opportunity to create offense for that line.

The one constant regarding that line is that it's been thoroughly mediocre so far.

We have won more then are fair share of games where we didn't deserve too, last night was just one to even things up a bit.  They happen it is a long season.  We still have a ton of work to do however.

I got this at the game for you guys -

Useless tits. Running around nobody with a clue. Game we needed to win. Tough remainder of month. Totally disgusted with the teams effort the last 2 weeks. I'm going to go out on a limb here and probably going to get ragged on but I say we will be in last place in our division by the end of the month. I hope these clowns pick up their act and prove me wrong.

You know, I hate the loss as any of us, but holy hell isn't that a bit premature to say? We still have quite a bit of a cushion between Boston and Montreal.

Both won tonight, the cushion is 5 points.

I can understand the concern people have, though, after the losing seasons the team has produced recently.

Here's hoping for a win against Phoenix on Tuesday.

True, but 5 points is 5 points. To think the Leafs will go on a three game losing streak while Boston AND Montreal win 3 straight and dropping to last in the division is as likely as the Leafs being ahead of at least one of them. You never know, but still, I'd rather still have hope for the team than say they're going to be dead last after a loss. It's the same old story: They lose, we're condemned to last in our division. We win, we have a shot to string some wins together and be at the top of our division.

It's not just the loss tonight. Where have you been? Have you watched the same games as the rest of us the last 2 weeks? We have been outplayed badly most nights. Ottawa sucks and at home we should put them away. The team doesn't know how to put teams away. Sens didn't do anything to deserve this win. We gave it away. All I'm saying is the schedule is tough the rest of this month and if we don't start playing like we did in October it could be uglier by months end.

It hasn't been easy but we still have a winning record. We would have to fall off a cliff and Montreal would have to be world beaters. We've been shaky in our last few games since Boston, but a lot would have to go wrong to be last in our division. It could happen, but like I said earlier, after a loss the sky falls. After a win we start parading. The extremes people have for the team after a win or a loss are very, very palpable. I always thought we'd be in a dogfight for the playoffs and we're still doing better than I expected. We just had inflated expectations after coming strong out of the gate.
