I think we have a better chance with Giguere in nets than with Varlamov in. If anything, the current Leafs should know Giggy's weaknesses pretty well.

Like the splits?

I don't know about that stuff, but his glove hand is not as quick as it used to be.

It was my feeble attempt at humour given that Giguere struggled with groin issues in the past.

I got what you meant, and laughed to myself. But seriously, I guess making him go post to post is probably going to make any goalie a little strained, certainly an older veteran with groin issues.

Either way, I hope all three of our top lines pepper him with shots tonight. I think the Leafs will have the best chance at winning the game, if they focus more on the defensive side of things, rather than looking to score on the Avs. I'm sure they can get pucks past Giguere, but shutting down the Avs offense will be the biggest task IMO.

Yeah, I agree. This could be a high scoring game... for both teams.

According to ESPN, the Leafs are right behind the Avs in Power Rankings. It should be a good test for both clubs tonight. The Avs have outscored their opponents something like 17-8 since their loss to Detroit.

This game is on Versus, so I will finally get to watch a Leafs game in HD, bout time.

In contrast this is the 1st regular season game I'll be watching with Leafs TV online.  I guess these two things go hand in hand with the first 3 games all being on CBC (which being in the GTA I enjoy for free in HD over the air).

I haven't noticed frattin doing much in his 3 games.  When Kadri is healed I think we send frattin down and put kadri in his spot.

Really ? What Kadri did in the pre season that deserves Frattin's spot ?

So far, Frattin is the better NHLer.

I'm glad the Leafs have both. I think they will both be real good NHL players soon.

You mean, my choice of cliches didn't tell you I was playing along?

Clearly you and I need some sort of posting mentor to get us on the same page.

Indeed, we probably do. But, where, oh where, would we be able to find such a mentor? Does such a wonderful and learned person even exist?

I'm guessing that, like Giguere and goaltending, our posting mentor won't actually be any good at posting. So, yeah, there are candidates.

I would like to see the Grabo line pick it up a little... We can't lean on one line forever.

That's just one more thing that encourages me about the first 3 games .. Grabbo's line hasn't got it going yet, and we're still winning.  It won't be long until they do, then hopefully both lines are dangerous every night = wins.

So, we need to find someone who was once good at posting, but is now well past their prime and should be seriously considering retirement?

More or less. But they also have to be willing to hang on to mentor us for an exorbitantly high salary. Also, they should hurt their ring fingers on every semi-long post.

I assume we'll have to acquire them from another board for 2 lesser posters that have more than worn out their welcome and that we're just happy to be rid of.

I guess... and at the end of the day, wins are what its all about anyway.

Roger. I'll draw up a list of our lesser posters who've worn out their welcome.

In fact, forget the posting mentor game. That sounds like way more fun.
