Talk about shortening the bench... I'm wagering 5/6 in minutes were much less?

Yeah, that's really more of a reflection of the way Schenn/Komisarek were glued to the bench.

Was listening on the radio but missed what McArthur injury was?  Kessel on fire alright.  Winning faceoffs during a PP is a good way to start a comback.  What a pick up Steckel has been for the leafs.
Looking for a 60 minute game tomorrow form the lads.  Its not like anyone besides Reimer, Kessel, Lupul and Gardy will be tired after the effort.

Good start regardless and how good can this team get if they 'all' start playing good hockey.

Glued to the bench because of their bad play or Phaneuf's, Liles', and Gardiner's good play. Both I reckon.

They both played pretty bad, Schenn was worse I thought.

What's up with Schenn? He's been pretty bad so far this season. Komisarek just can't string together good games.

With Franson and Aulie waiting to take their spots I wonder what Wilson will do. He'll probably keep playing them and alternate Gardiner and Franson.

schenn and komisarek were bad..but that shouldn't take away from gardiner's game ...he played well tonight ..it was only a matter of time before frattin scored..glad he has it out of the way ....

but still..no idea how the leafs won this one..and if they even for a second think they deserved it ..they're going to get hammered tomorrow night

It looks more like Schenn's legs are made of glue.  He plays hesitantly.  Afraid of something?  Any answers?

Overall, the Leafs did what they had to do to eake out the victory...played smart and sharp (offensively).

That's the Leafian spirit!!

usually if the team doesn't play well yet still wins you say the goalie stole it ...and yet that wasn't really what happened here at all ...tonight Kessel stole it

it was a good close game.

What game were you watching? Yes, the Leafs got two points but that was not a great game at all. They looked awful at times.

9 out of 10 points is nice but that's where they were last year too  so far I see as many signs of caution as I do signs of hope and after 5 games my head is still ruling over my heart.

I mean, it was still a good game, right?  The leafs were outplayed for 2 periods but really found their stride in the 3rd period and OT.  Let's not forget how quickly a team can become lethargic on a long home-stand.  The leafs, even with shotty play at times, acquitted themselves rather well.  They played well to end last year and wanted to continue that success.  I think they have done that out of the gate.  Now they must continue to.

He didn't steal the game, but Reimer did make a handful of key saves in the 3rd period to keep the team in the game.
