I have brought Grabo's line out of a slump after comments I made recently in other threads.  You may praise me now.

Can you find a thread on Luke, Mac, Komi, Liles, Naz and Gus?
I did mention sitting out Schenn for a game at one point.  I feel Franson might be warming the press box for a few games yet.

Whiplash effect for james reimer says ron wilson. No word yet as to how long he'll be out if at all.

Wilson said he could have finished the game but they wanted to be cautious with him.

And please, just in case, start with Gus!
My pet hate is still the D's inabilty to keep the puck in the offensive zone at times.  Gus will come right when Riemer starts.  I actually have alot of faith in Gus, but I really think he needs more game time and the defence to look after him a bit more.  He was very shakey tonight but there were bodies in front of the net alot and coming in cold in a game like that must be difficult for any goalie.  I think Frattin and Kadri looked like they could really form some chemisrty together instead of trying to knock each other off the rooster.

Just saw the highlights - that was a pretty sweet goal by Grabbo!

Hope Reimer is all right - it will be interesting to see if Gionta gets called on the carpet for that headshot.

Man, Kadri really has to be more heads up in games. Watching the full game he made a few good plays and was a liability more than half the time... I really want him to succeed and I'd love to see him put his game together but right now he seems like a Filatov to me.

Just watching the highlites...did the puck go over the glass before the tieing goal?

Yep after all the hate from the posts we got some love from the netting  ;D

I heard that the posts in Montreal aren't even regulation - just lots of extra red paint on them.

I don't really get the hate for Gustavsson. I don't think he played great, but nowhere near as bad as some of you are saying. After the first goal against, he made several very good saves.

I'm also inclined to stick up for Kadri. I think there were quite a few shifts where that line looked dangerous entirely because Kadri is very creative. I think a lot of the "mistakes" he made were really just examples of his teammates not being on the same page just yet.

Agreed here. But I do get the sinking feeling that we've got another Tellqvist on our hands...

I also saw him as the first forward back on a few plays tonight also, which is encouraging.

He's definitely creative, and made a couple good moves, but some of his passes didn't seem crisp, and looked to me had a greater chance to be picked off by an opposing player. I think he needs to learn when to be creative and when to play it simple.

Right, but no one on the broadcast said "Damn! Carey Price's SV% is horrendous. Actually... it's worse than Gustavsson's, the guy we've been railing on all game!"

They weren't exactly praising Price, either.

No, but they were far more forgiving. All that's etched in my mind after the games is "Wow, Gus is sloppy" and "Wow, Price is making great saves!" or no real criticism of Price after any of the goals. He wasn't exactly Gus' foil tonight that, I think, the broadcasters made it seem simply through the lack of criticism.

Part of it is that Price showed that he could be a top-5 goalie last year over an entire season and pull his team in to the playoffs.  Gus has yet to show over a significant stretch that he is a decent NHL backup, let alone a starter, let alone an above average starter.
