Cheering your kid on while they did crack in front of you.

That's not cheering for them getting over a crack habit, thats just cheering for them doing crack.

You said cheering these goals is like cheering for a kid to get over a crack habit.

Ok, then keep cheering next year when we don't get into the playoffs.

It has no impact so why wouldn't I?  And if it had any impact, people could have cheered the team into the playoffs.

I just don't get what you're cheering for. What is it you're cheering for?

The hockey team I have chosen to devote a great deal of my life to follow.

Cheering these goals is cheering for points that are hurting our future. The same thing as a kid that's doing crack in front of you.

You know things aren't going to get better but you're still cheering for something better that isn't coming.

I've done the same so that's what I don't get what you're cheering for when these wins at the end of the season hurt our future.

Fun? Enjoyment? Pleasure? The knowledge that doing so has about as much impact on the outcome of the game as what I had for lunch?

What I don't get is why other people enjoying themselves makes you so distraught.

Why does it bother so many that I want the team to lose?

I don't see it really bothering anyone. Certainly, not to the same extent that the fans who are at the game cheering bothers you.

Should Jets and Sabres fans not be cheering for wins?

Is it okay to cheer for them to make the playoffs when the more than likley outcome is a first round exit and a worse draft pick?

Ok, so its not the same as cheering for a kid to get over a crack habit, we agree then.

It doesn't really bother me, I just don't get it. Honestly, I'm getting used to not giving a rat's ass about the Leafs at all at this time of year. That bothers me more than fans cheering the team on.

I not only cheered when Wilson got fired, me and the crew went out and got ripped. Point?

So it's ok when not cheering for the team works for you. Ok, thanks.

You are quite welcome. I wasn't aware that Ron Wilson was the team. I also cheered FOR the Leafs while heckling RW every chance I had. What the heck could that mean?

The amount of complaining you've put forth about other fans cheering seems to disagree with you. And, really, it's pretty simple - in the arena, there's an atmosphere that leads to cheering for the team, regardless of what may be in their best interests or what the individual fans may want. It's pretty simple sociology/psychology.

Yeah, it is. You're cheering for the Leafs to get over their not winning a cup habit when winning now hurts their chances to win a cup.
