I think we are being short-circuited

Matthews is so good along the boards. Makes you wonder why that line even needs a "puck retriever" like Hyman, Matthews is probably the best at that on the entire team. Nylander's pretty darn good with that stuff too, but he uses his hands/skill a little more while Matthews uses his body.

So many penalties missed. It's like 2005 all over with the clutch and grab and interference

I would really like to see Babcock just overload Marner-Nylander-Matthews in these games where offense dries up.

I'd like to see Matthews-Kadri-Nylander loaded up. Would need someone in the line-up who could conceivable step up into the 3C slot. Too bad we don't have anyone in the pressbox who could definitely do that.

He's pissed me off at times with his lines. Even with Auston I know he's had his chances but why not throw Mitch out there with him for a bit maybe break the slump and then switch it back.

They were pretty awesome tonight for the most part, considering how they're always shorthanded.

Carolina was really good at closing up the middle, aggressively closing gaps, and removing cross ice plays. Pretty much all of them could skate on the backend.

Going to be another boring game tomorrow night. Going to be an up and down year I think. Frustrating to say the least. Maybe my expectations are a bit higher but I think this team should be in most games every night, and maybe I expect them to get points on a nightly basis. Games like tonight although they weren't at their best they easily could of grabbed a point.
