Elon Musk has been a near-constant presence at Mar-a-Lago, where he’s sat in on important meetings and calls.

The announcement reinforces the closeness that Musk has managed to achieve with Trump, even after the election. But for some people in Trump’s orbit, Musk’s presence has felt overbearing.

Musk has been so aggressive in pushing his views about Trump’s second term that he’s stepping on the toes of Trump’s transition team and may be overstaying his welcome at Mar-a-Lago, according to two people familiar with the transition who have spent time at the Palm Beach, Florida, resort over the past week.

Every appointment this administration makes is a confession. Also as noted by many, a co-appointment to a department of efficiency adds a bit of levity to the horror to come.

The really funny thing is, the guy is about to get booted from the inner circle for being too intensely annoying.

Picking a highly suspected child diddler for Attorney General is certainly a choice.

I'm quite willing to call Trump supporters wrong for this. It's asinine to claim that Harris is communist/socialist. It's absolutely absurd to be claiming her policies are left of Bernie and it's a completely honest statement that you bought Trump's lies because he spent more time saying "socialist" than actually giving out policy.

If it didn't affect us so much I'd be more inclined to say just watch it burn and maybe they'll come to their senses, but I doubt it. Pretty wild that the picks aren't based on merit, but based on loyalty. Don jr. also claiming they don't want anyone who they perceive to be as smarter than his dad is just sad. The most we can hope for is just incompetence and GOP infighting.

Jeebus. Really leaning heavily into the LoCoDe philosophy there. No one they perceive as smarter than Trump? That's anyone qualified to do any of these jobs. America - and us, by association - are beyond screwed for at least the next 2 year. Hopefully, the midterms can at least flip the House and maybe the Senate, so some of the guardrails can be put back in place.
