I very briefly worked for a place where all of the employees knew it was going out of business and each payday it was anyone's guess if we'd get paid on time, or the correct amount, or eventually at all.

Fun to think that this is effectively the situation going on with the US government right now.

I'm headed to Phoenix tomorrow for the Rumble and I have no idea what to expect at the airport.  At least they clear you for customs at Pearson now, but who knows what's happening with the air traffic management right now.

I travelled from Phoenix a few days ago and it was business as usual. And it's over now.

Unless everyone's been paid right this second, it ain't over.

OK it's not over, flights in and out of Phoenix will be subject to the same delays as yesterday.

Heart-eyes this thread

But also horrified
Drop the mic.

Here's the issue with unfettered capitalism and deregulation. We have to keep the beast in check, least it turn into a hydra.

Something like 26 million views of the video. Things are happening.

Another of the new House members reminded a war crimes doer of his war crimes and it went really well.

Tho... tbh, he's probably right about how it'll go at the Supreme Court.

Days ago, when Devin Nunes launched his proposterous lawsuit against, among other entities, a fictional Twitter cow ("Devin Nunes' Cow"), @DevinCow had 2K followers.  @DevinCow now has 375K followers and will pass Nunes' own follower count of 395K within a few hours.

It's done, took an hour or so, 397K.

A bunch of the Red Sox won't be visiting the White House:

Additionally, the UVA Men's NCAA Basketball champions will be declining the invitiation en masse.

I suppose what with Holtby and other Caps making this decision as well as most black players on the Superbowl and NCAA Football champs doing this as well as the NBA champs not even considering going this is old hat at this point but it's still so god damn weird. The idea that turning down an invitation to the White House is essentially the norm at this point, and that doing so is actually justified unlike in the case of Tim Thomas, is one of the more boggling signs of just how far things have deteriorated.

It's getting ridiculous with the amount of obstruction going on.  Refusing to testify in front of congress.  Openly rejecting laws. It's not a Trump problem, it's a Republican problem.

In a country with child poverty, a crumbling infrastructure, a massive homeless problem among veterans and an opioid epidemic the White House announced today a way for citizens to officially complain to the government if they feel they weren't fairly moderated on Twitter or Facebook.

I just genuinely don't see how anyone could even be passingly familiar with the idea of conservatism as a political philosophy and support what is being done in its name.

I think it's pretty clear that the only thing the "Conservative/Republican" leaning people of the country believe in anymore is hatred, racism and misogyny.

I think that's a fairly broad stroke you're painting those that are typically conservative with.

I have generally been a conservative voter. I don't support Ford. Nor do I support Trump. That doesn't mean I'm a Liberal.

I don't want to speak for LK but I think "the country" he's referring to there is, given the thread, the US.
