Is this the turning point???

I like the way our D is playing but with Reimer, Lupul and Frattin out and Kessel still kind of cold we are going to need more of our 2ndary scoring to wake up if we want to hang onto a playoff spot.

Grabovski 1 point in last 10 games
MacArthur 1 point in last 9 games
Kulemin 2 points in last 8 games

Scrivens isn't going to be able to steal every game these guys need to find a way to earn their pay, especially Grabbo and Mac since they don't even kill penalties like Kulie.

kulie has been on our pk for years.  However our pk has been horrible for years, so its not like he is good at it.  Then again we have horrible goaltending over that time.

Is there a site that keeps team PK% history year over year?

That is one sore point with me as well, the grabbo line. where have they gone. if we had them firing like they can this team would be even better.

Yes, because you can judge the quality of a single PKing forward by the quality of the entire team's ability to kill penalties.

Really grinds my gears as well. They need to be called out for it.  This organization badly needs in the playoffs this year, especially in this freak 48 game season. We need every game possible.

This was supposed to be our "2nd" line for G-ds sakes. We need them. The argument that they are more needed to play shutdown and thus not shoulder as much of the offensive load is a pile of crap, and I'm sick of hearing it.

I am hoping Carlyle opens the door for them tonight. a bit more freedom may just get them goals going in again.

Stick your head in the sand if you want about it, but Grabovski and Kulemin are starting 32.9% of their shifts (from face-offs) in the offensive end - so almost 70% of the time they are beginning in their own end.  Not good for offensive production.  In addition, they are matching up against some of the toughest competition among forwards on the team.

You can argue whether they should be in this role or not, but that is how they are being used.  As of now, Kadri-Frattin have been picking up the offensive slack.

Kadri line is clearly number 2 line this year. Grabo number 3 line. No doubt about it.

Its starting to look that way. Carlyle rewards based on play , and  the grabbo line is still off.

The last time Leafs had back to back shutouts was right before the 3-13-2 tailspin last season.

Just tempering the enthusiasm a bit.  :-\

Tampa has been kicking back since Saturday as well.  Not looking forward to this one.

I agree Grabovski in particular should be producing more offense, but his line is playing well.  Grabo was just flying last night.  Had no goals to show for it, but I be willing to wager (without looking it up, which is a major folly on my part) that his line is on the + side of the ledger for the season despite not really scoring.

Just the same we may need them to pot 1 or 2 tonight.

The one thing that is exceedingly clear is that it is time to bring back Jake Gardiner.. I was at the Toronto/Tampa game last year and Gardiner scored one of the prettiest goals I have ever seen a set up another.  We need his offensive accumen. Perhaps Holzer goes down after his huge mistake last night giving up the puck that led to the first goal..would be nice to  have Lupul and Frattin back in as well.
Also why not give Colbourne a visit and put him between Kessel and JVR for a few games....he has been playing very well on the farm of late.

No big changes needed yet,its just a loss they do happen. although I would love to have our injured back. I think we come out better thur.

Let's hope so.  Losses happen, it's how the team responds after the loss that tells you if they're a legitimate playoff team.  If the Leafs can reel off 2-3 more wins now I'll be a believer.
