Who had a poor game tonight, for the first time in awhile?  Hyman.  It made a difference.
Hyman and Marner weren't good tonight. Plays died on their sticks the whole game. Dermott was bad again.

Reffing stinks all the time. That?s the new NHL but you can blame the players for a lazy effort and Andersen not bailing anyone out. Division is tightening up and the way they?re playing I wouldn?t be surprised if we aren?t in 3rd place by end of the month. Hard to grasp how this team will do in the playoffs.

What is this schedule nonsense though.  Play back to back games.  Travel to Ottawa tonight to play a rested Ottawa and then don?t play again until Friday. Then Ottawa has to play a rested Vancouver on a back to back on Monday

Message to Dubas. Reilly is going to be too expensive to keep especially when you?ve handcuffed this team with your contracts handed out.

Package Reilly and Andersen now so we don?t lose both of them for nothing.

If we did that, what would be left for you to do?
Haha. Yup Freddie's fault for making that save in the 1st on that 2 on 1.. should have had that Statsny tip too, or the screen shot..

Can someone find a clip of the Hyman penalty off the faceoff? I really want to see that again.

Hey I?ve been Freddy?s biggest supporter over the last few years. Said it numerous times he was our MVP when this team was horrible defensively. He?s done. Game has gone down the tube and same old story as a lot have questioned. Can he win in the playoffs? Get rid of him as they aren?t going to resign him.

Rielly has another year. And you think Andersen is crap so he's worth nothing in a trade.

Putting aside my thoughts on our now-0.899 Sv% goalie and looking at the other end... the Leafs really needed to test Brossoit more tonight. His numbers coming into the game were good but he looked shaky all night and gave up 2 weak looking goals (heck, 3 if you want to count Engvall's). If they produced the kinds of chances they were getting in the previous 2 games they would have scored 6 goals probably.

I?m not blaming the loss solely on him more the team effort but he?s not the old Freddy who used to win games on most nights on his own. His game has regressed.

Thanks. Hilariously bad call.

But whatever. Leafs deserved to lose.

Still don't like Andersen. Wish he could win or at least keep us in some games when we are being outplayed.

Yep totally agree. Jets tried to tighten up defensively but the Leafs needed to take advantage of Hellebuyck being out. They didn?t it was a poor effort.

Andersen might still be hurt he doesn't look right alot of the time. In any event they'll lose in the first round if he's playing like this

It?s on the team to be better and work through it but the game had two rule books tonight.  If a player was skating in on the forecheck you could hold and impede him to make sure he didn?t get to the puck.  Then you had the Thornton/Rielly/Hyman calls.

The Leafs if they aren?t firing on all cylinders seem to really struggle when they don?t have their passes connecting in that style of game.

Marner and Hyman didn?t have good games and this was a game where Matthews looked really ineffective.

Hyman asked about what kind of injury to a wrist gets better with playing and it has two answer

Short version: There isn?t one

Longer version: some wrist tendinosis that is purely non surgical can a long and slow recovery but if given rest between play can let people keep staying active.  The problem is it could be 4 weeks or 3+ months of complete rest to get it to fully settle so it won?t necessarily get worse playing but I doubt it?s an injury we see Matthews fully recover from this year
