I think it's risky to play Matthews when he said himself his injury needs time to heal.  It's not like we are in any danger of missing the playoffs, and the team has shown it can win without him.

It might be one of those situations where the player wants to just play though it.

I'd think the Leafs are smart enough to weigh the risk factor here, and determined that he can do so.

It's crazy that we've played the Oilers 7 times this season and the Jets just once. What a weird schedule. This is gonna be a big series though. I see Winnipeg as the 2nd best team in the division (defence is poop but Hellebuyck is good enough to overcome that).

His wrist clearly isn't ok.  I'm going to leave it with the team on whether he is better off sitting vs. playing.  He still has 15 shots on goal in the 3 games since coming back and there are at least a good half dozen missed/blocked shots on top of that.

I would prefer they rest him but they half almost a week off coming up.

Agreed. As much as I like the short series aspect of this schedule, it hasn't been super well balanced.

Guaranteeing a win tonight, since we went 0-2 while CJ had that tweet up.
