Laine, who is only good at shooting and nothing else, has saved two sure game-ending goals.

Whatever. Didn't see both game ending saves but one for sure he's the one who coughed it up. More reason to hustle his slow ass and back check. Is what it is. Kid gets most of his points on the PP and usually one timers from nice feeds from Wheeler or Schiefele. Doesn't do much else. Stats show it. I know a lot of people see his goal totals and see that as obviously an important part of the game and rightfully so but he's not a complete player. Not even close between him and Auston as far as what they bring to the rink. Said this before and I'll say it again u can poll all 30 GMs and ask who they would take and don't think any would take Laine and that's including Chevy.

Lookit dis

Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander
Marleau-Kadri-Marner
Hyman-Tavares-Kapanen
Lindholm-Gauthier-Brown/Leivo

Firepower line up!

Nylander needs to hurry up. Everyone will know how to take out Mathews come play-off time, that bites. Gauthier is not bad at all, don't know what ppl are talking about, we need some size. Great comeback game...Leafs beat that stifling 90s trap nicely, once they woke up.

Byfuglien yelling at Laine (and rightly so)

Is Matthews made of glass? To good to be true?
Matthews got smoked on that hit.  I'm thinking most guys would have been injured on that play.  I hope Matthews is alright.  If he's out long term it's really going to put a damper on things.  It could give Nylander leverage also.  At the same token if Matthews is gone all season they may be more prone to allowing Nylander sit out for the entire season.

How long did it take Matthews to recover the last time he had an injury like this?  I remember it taking a really long time and he never really played the same afterward.

Matthews has had two of these injuries previously.  One of them happened when he was a teenager.

Apparently they reported it wrong. Last year it was his right shoulder. This year his left. I don't know... Just what I read.
This injury will have zero effect on Nylander. Leafs winning and losing will have zero effect also.

So I have a confession to make. I fell asleep at 0-2 last night. We came back to win 3-2. The only other games I've managed to watch so far have been the Saturday night games. Which we lost both of.

I feel that I may be part of the problem

I woke up immediately after a dream in which the Leafs gave up the game-winning goal on a shot from the other end of the ice.  I'm pretty sure it was also Bernier in net, for some reason.

I hope none of this has any relevance to tonight's game.

I need more detail.  Were you playing?

Felt like I was an ice-level observer who wasn't playing.  Not dissimilar to the gif that Herman posted of Bernier, except that this one went mid-high glove side.  I think it was a 3-2 final.

:o

Are sleeping pills an option so you miss every game?

Am I the only one that found Hughson's play calling to be annoying? Hate that guy.
Twitter was rampant last night giving it to Hughson because he was on a talk about how the Jets were a better team than the Leafs and then the Leafs comeback began literally 20 seconds later

I watched two periods and then left to ref soccer, I also could be part of the problem!!!

Just saw that too. Wrong shoulder not the old injury, there is hope this wont be chronic then.

The last time Matthews had an injured shoulder he missed 20 games and wasn't really in full tilt during the playoffs against Boston.  Even coach Babcock admitted thereafter the series was over that Matthews was not at full capacity.

I had a fear something like this was going to happen, that someone would try to take a run at him.  Hopefully he won't be out for long.

It seems that Matthews is delving towards the net alot more now that Nylander is absent from his wing.  He's being more assertive (aggressive?) around the net.  Perhaps if Nylander was there, he could have avoided such a move in the first place.

Anyway,  Godspeed to Auston in his recovery.

Matthews missed 6 of those 20 because of a concussion last year. He has plenty of time to recoup from this injury.
