Carlyle says Lupul is day to day and won't call the injury concussion.

Called the stalling last night.

It's just a matter of time before we hear about his 'concussion-like symptoms' which are not a concussion.

Carlyle said he went for an evaluation this morning, didn't sound like he had the results.

Do you want him to call it a concussion before he knows its a concussion?

Pff who needs evaluation, or a medical license, to diagnose a concussion?

As someone who is pretty darn close to having one, it's not that hard to diagnose...

But Carlyle doesn't have one (although the line combinations do call that into question).  That would be like me saying you have a concussion just by looking at you.  I'm sure you could do it and be right sometimes, but I would be going for the doctor's opinion if it were me.

EDIT: If you meant medical license then ignore the above completely.

Based on his altered state after the hit (and missing the bench door) I think it's fairly easy to argue at least a mild concussion following that hit.  The severity will likely dictate how long he's out, and hopefully it's not for the rest of the season.

He looked dizzy and out of it when he was trying to get off the ice, but, he never lost consciousness. They also showed him talking to the trainer on the bench, and he looked coherant and didn't seem to have the glassy eyes or dazed look that often accompany a concussion. The dizziness could have easily lead to him missing the door to the bench, and could have been caused by the fluid in his ears being knocked around from the hit - and that could also explain why he didn't appear to still be dizzy moments later. It's likely a concussion, sure, but I wouldn't jump to that conclusion yet. Considering the way his head snapped around, whiplash is equally likely.

You don't have to lose consciousness to have a concussion, but I hope you're right him just being dizzy.  It would be a shame to lose him so soon after coming back from injury.
