Josh Anderson to Mtl for Max Domi

Said in the other thread if he can stay healthy it'll look good down the road. Too much right now tho.

If he can repeat his 18/19 success, maybe. If that season proves to be an outlier, it?s a huge overpayment. Like, Clarkson level bad.

I remember the overwhelming consensus from the peanut gallery was that Bergevin was an idiot for moving Subban for Weber, so best to see how this one plays out.

Yeah but that was being wrong on an outlier aging curve. Josh Anderson has barely cracked 40pts in his career.

Subban's struggles aside, I still think that was a bad trade by Montreal.

They committed not insignificant money and term to a guy with one season of goal production.  His prior two seasons were in the 40 point pace territory and then he had his 27 goal season.  That?s more goals than he scored in junior hockey.  He did have 17 and 19 goal seasons with some missed games in those years so 20 goals is reasonable.  Just a gritty guy with shoulder troubles isn?t a great long term commit for me

Smells like Clarkson 2.0

Yes but he is a beast...and fast.  Wish he was a Leaf

100% still a bad trade.
Weber has played seasons of 78, 26, 58 and 65(shortened season). His age is a significant factor in ranking that trade. He's also on the books for 5 more years at 7.9million cap hit.

Weber is a wonderful leader, but the Habs weren't at the point that they needed that #1 stud defense for 2 or 3 seasons of great play. They still aren't. The move made no sense, no matter how much of a problem Subban was in the room.

Weber is on the books for 6 more years not 5. His salary does go down over the next six years though.. 6,6,3,1,1,1. If he's bought out the Habs will still get hammered with a high cap hit. Chances of him being Chara 2.0?

Counting past 5 has never been a strong suit of mine.
