I can't wait for them obliterate this team in the off season.

I just pray it actually happens.

I don't know if I can watch another season with this group of players. I know I say that every year (relax Deebo), but this is the first time I've been completely emotionless about it. From a pure entertainment standpoint, Leafs hockey is total garbage and only the players are to blame.

Accountability under Horachuk is just as baffling as it was under Carlyle.  Brewer should not be playing given his lack of mobility.  What is the rationale for him now playing on the power play and penalty killing as well?

Tanking?

Is it just me or have they abandoned the whole playing as a 5 man unit ("the way good teams in the NHL play") in all three zones strategy they tried in Horachek's first 10 games?

It seems like a lot more blowing the zone and hoping for the Hollywood pass recently.

They've just abandoned playing hockey period.

I hear ya.  I probably watched a grand total of 6 games last year?  I've watched more this year (mostly post Carlyle - maybe up to 15 games so far?), but only because I've been desperate for hockey - I miss watching good hockey.

If little changes happen this offseason, I'm probably gonna get HockeyStreams and start watching another team.

How did that result in off-setting penalties?? Dude wrestled a ref to the ice.

Wonder if it would have been the same if a Leaf player had done it?

I honestly think they went into this hoping they'd be competitive.  But they simply analysed the situation they were in and realized they were only scoring by cheating on defence, they had spent too much money, players weren't being professional enough, and even if they made the playoffs, they weren't going to go anywhere.  So they out-lined what needed to be done.  Now it's shape up, or ship-out... and try to drop as low in the standing as possible.

Brewer is laughably bad.

when is his contract up?  I hope not long.

I believe he is a pending UFA.

He has 3 or 4 more games to hit 1000.

I'd be very surprised if he plays again after that game.

Although if they are really embracing the tank they might want to offer him a 3 year extension. ;)

I know we all joke about embracing the tank and they have to consider damage to trade value, but I don't understand why management, who must be apoplectic with rage, has not started sitting more guys, they have literally stopped trying, that's unacceptable for professionals.
