Dubas named GM, LouLam joins Grampa Fletcher in the broom closet.

Belief that Lou has extra term on his contract but that unofficially this was always intended to be his last year as GM. Johnson commented that Lou has said formally that this is his last year within "board room" discussions. The assumption is that Dubas would take his place as GM but Lou would continue to serve in an advisory role.
I don't think it is anything more than we have talked about before. I think it fits well with Dubas declining to interview for jobs this year.

That's the only good news on this crappy evening of hockey.

Yeah, I would take that bit of news, if it's true. If the plan to improve the team is stuck in a trade a 2nd rounder for a 4th line center rut, then it's probably time for some fresh thinking.
I didn't mind the Leafs bringing in Lamoriello, but it should have been an advisory position in the first place.

"The Capitals] look at us and they still think we're kids," Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said. "And it looked like we were kids out there tonight. I thought they smacked us around and forechecked us. I didn't think we executed at all."
"We turned the puck over," Babcock said. "You can't turn the puck over in the National Hockey League. Maybe you can get away with that in other leagues, but in the National Hockey League you can't."
