Which is sort of ultimately my point. Regardless of whether or not you think someone's protest is valid playing the national anthem before sporting events might as well be preceded by a "If you'd like to make a symbolic political statement, now is the time" disclaimer.

Like I said, it bothered me, but I forgot about it as soon as the song was over. Not much of a political statement in my books.
