Leafs @ Devils - Feb. 6th, 7:00pm - SNO, TSN 1050

Sportsnet logic.  Run a full screen width ad that covers 1/5 of the screen and completely obstructs the players while they are rushing up the boards right where the ad banner is.

Not a bad move.  Move out two contracts with limited to no value and now the Leafs have two slots to take on players either through waiver wires or 2 for 1 trades.

And while late round draft picks are certainly not worth as much:
6th round - Connor Brown
7th round - Andreas Johnson

That being said, it's a conditional 7th round pick for next years draft and we may never actually see it depending on what those conditions are.

So basically for nothing.

If the conditions aren't met, what happens? The Leafs traded 2 players for nothing? Didn't think that was legal.

Sure it is. Go try and find what the leafs for for Larry Murphy.

Must be some Leaf fans on the Supreme Court:

Just kidding... but you know the way the Leafs are playing means that there will be a lot of slightly Bud Goal Lights for sale ...unless Leaf fans try to return them as defective...

Gallows humour, nothing more. ;D

I think I'm on board with seeing what you can get for Kessel, and then taking it.

Every time somebody bleats on about he scores 30 goals a year, I want to say: yeah, well subtract those from his total and he's back around zero.  Totally overrated.

And in 2016.

Freeing up 2 roster spots for some reason?

Does that mean more players are coming back than heading out in a upcoming trade? 2 nickels for a dime type trade? It doesn't scream, 'draft picks are coming'

Can't watch the game tonight, do Kessel and linemates look as lackadaisical/ineffective/uninterested as they did the last game?

Yep, and I think you were right in you last post.  ???

Kessel and Bozak: YOU SUCK.

It's too bad that Ovechkin has rebounded this year because I would have loved to return Kessel to the USA and let Ovie play for his favorite team (that was the Leafs...not sure if that is still the case...)
