Game Notes

TOR
?Hutchinson (2-3-2, 3.49 GAA, .878 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Andersen is still a no-go despite taking part in the last few practices. He says he's hoping for a Saturday return, but Babcock says probably Monday
?Hyman is expected to make his return to the line-up tonight. He'll take his usual spot on the Tavares-Marner line
?Nylander and Kapanen switched spots at practice yesterday, so Kapanen gets another go with Matthews
?And if you missed it, Babcock finally rejigged the PP units so they look more like last seasons groups, with Matthews and Nylander being on the "2nd" unit

NJ
?Kinkaid (13-12-6, 3.07 GAA, .898 Sv%) will likely start for the Devils
?Kinkaid is really struggling to meet the performance he had last season while in the starters role. He put up a .913 Sv% in 41 games last season
?That's just one of the reasons the Devils are near the bottom of the standings right now
?Taylor Hall has been out with a lower body injury since late December, and will likely miss another week or two. Surprisingly the Devils have fared ok without him going 4-3-0
?3 of those wins came with rookie goalie MacKenzie Blackwood in net though, who is also now injured. Blackwood had a .954 Sv% since Hall went down

Injuries

?Tyler Ennis - Ankle - Injured Reserve
?Frederik Andersen - Groin - Injured Reserve
?Garret Sparks - Concussion - Out indefinitely
Code:

?Taylor Hall - Lower Body - Injured Reserve
?Macrus Johansson - Upper Body - Injured Reserve
?Cory Schneider - Abdominal - Injured Reserve
?MacKenzie Blackwood - Lower Body - Questionable Thursday

So, they've mentioned Andersen is a possibility for Saturday and probable for Monday, what the hell is going on with Sparks?  I haven't heard any updates.

Concussions are not remotely like sprains, strains, and breaks. Every concussion, even for the same person, has its own timeline and there's no physiological indicator other than being free of symptoms in all relevant situations.

The fact that Sparks is out doing non-contact drills before practice is good but there just isn't a way to make the concussion go away.

Glad to have Hyman back, but sorry to see Moore go, he played quite well IMO.

GO LEAFS GO!
Agreed Moore is going to be full time next year, I do agree with Babs, better for him to get huge minutes with the Marlies than 4-8 on the 4th line. Perhaps he will get another shot if someone else gets hurt.

I just read somewhere that Freddie will be able to go on Saturday against the killer bees.
Freddie himself said that and then Babcock said Monday against Colorado is more realistic so we'll see

Ray Ferraro on the verge of losing punditry patience with Nylander.

C'mon Willie, start shutting people like me up.

This PP looks worse than any of the past month.

Man no urgency after pucks, entering the zone, giveaways, dumb decisions with the puck all with an extra guy on the ice. Lucky we weren't down one before the Hainsey goal.

That hit on Dermott was brutal.  I guess we're going to see what kind of shape Marincin is in.
