Whoa I thought Kerfoot would be out longer

I thought it wouldn't be too long. If the facial/dental problem was really bad, I think it wouldn't have gotten unnoticed for as long as it did.

For the record, the day that Kerfoot returns is the exact day that I had predicted he'd return.

Just curious. What day do you predict the next Leafs win?

That 2nd PP unit is a joke. Seriously? No hands Hyman with 2 guys that are regular scratches?

B) Hyman is there for retrieving pucks off misses and having a big butt; he might not have the hands but he is has an excellent screen and disruptorbutt

No need to thank me for clarifying your intended meaning.

A) name a good 2nd PP unit; I honestly don't think the league has had one since 2017-18 when Matthews and Nylander were sharing time with Kadri-Marner-JvR

B) Hyman is there for retrieving pucks off misses and having a big butt; he might not have the hands but he is an excellent screen and disruptor

C) those two guys were regular scratches because they weren't as good as our fully healthy top 9 at offense and not as good as our bottom 3 at defense, NOT because they're not good at hockey

Petan and Spezza have developed an easy chemistry because they're both skilled puck facilitators, and PP is kind of the best time to use that.

Double shift Rielly and Matthews.

Petan and Hyman shouldn't get PP time even in their own imaginations.

The powerplay needs players with skill capable of scoring. not people who finish their check against other third liners.

Frank E Kreskin......I knew it was you all the time :)

I'm OK with Hyman on the second PP, provided that the second PP gets about 20 - 30 seconds max during each PP. He can stand in front of the net and screen and hack at loose pucks. Still think that putting both Rielly and Barrie on PP1 and removing Johnsson (who really doesn't contribute much on a regular basis) might be an interesting change of pace. But the key is to get guys and the puck moving around more so things aren't as predictable, and open up the middle for better shots.

Should be interesting to see what Engval can do tonight. I remember watching him during preseason and thinking he was nowhere near ready for the NHL.

So with all these meetings going on, does anybody else think it was odd that Matthews wasn?t included with Tavares and Reilly when they went to the meeting with Babcock?

No. Not everyone needs to go talk to Babcock. Two senior guys did it. Good enough.

Yup. Don't overthink it.

Some nice close calls so far. If Mikheyev ever develops his hands in tight at speed, watch out
