Well, there's Rinne so I don't think he's a shoo-in.

Obviously a lot can happen between now and the end of the season but Price's edge numbers-wise is not insignificant and I'd argue he's played behind a lesser defensive group.

If Rinne had those numbers any other year he'd be taking home the Vezina. But it's Price's this year. No question really.

Listening to this bs is nauseating. I mean we get the whole impartial line wheeled out to justify why Toronto is the only team in the NHL who doesn't have a broadcast crew that are 'homers'.

Fine.

You have the national broadcaster covering a game between the Habs and Leafs, two biggest teams in Canada, surely impartial, right?

No, they spend the whole time, not commentating on the game, just fellating Montreal.

I get that one team is good right now, but this is pathetic. They've taken the whole being a heel to get people to watch thing way too far.

Like Nik said, there are still many games to be played.

I'm all for the tank but I can't stand seeing the Habs win. Conflicted here.

Do what I'm doing - watch something else and pretend it isn't happening

*checks Frederik Andersen's numbers this season*

*laughs*

If the net doesn't fall on his head, Anderson would have made 375 saves to have a .936 SV% and be ahead of Price.

Listening to Hughson call every single Montreal rush like it is a partial breakaway is grating.

I appreciate the sarcasm and everything but let's be real. The guy is having an incredible year and is a pretty solid Hart candidate right now.

Yup. Price is basically the only thing keeping Montreal from being near the bottom of the league in the standings. They're not a good offensive or defensive team. They're basically a goalie and just enough offence.

Holzer has made about three or four really terrific defensive plays tonight.

Is he a guy who's part of it going forward?  He seems to be improving.

Nah, he's a pending UFA. Let's hope other teams are watching tonight.

I don't think a bottom pairing defenseman can every really be considered a part of the future but he's really showing that he belongs in the NHL.  I do wonder if he maybe got an actual chance over the last two years whether he could have established himself in the NHL earlier.  If he isn't traded I would certainly be happy with him back on the blueline through the rebuild.

He's already a UFA this summer, so, he's pretty much peaked. He's not so much improving as much as he's getting more comfortable with the level of play in the NHL. He's not likely to get better than he is right now - which is really a 5/6/7 guy. He's pretty replaceable. If a team offers any sort of pick for him in the next couple days, the team should take it.
