Leafs Injury Updates

It's going to be interesting to see the line-up once Lombardi, Dupuis, and Komisarek come back. Kadri and Frattin both seem to be making it quite difficult for Burke to send them down again. We could be in for a 4th line of Lombardi-Steckel-Dupuis.

Sounds like the perfect recipe for a traditional move a veteran to make room for a young player who earned a spot type trade.

What has Dupuis done to earn a roster spot?  if Dupuis can be sent down, I would do that instead of sending anyone else down.  As for Komi, the Leafs have 7 decent d-men.  That makes Komi expendable IMHO, and could be traded for an asset to make the team better up front.

I agree, Boyce has shown more hustle in 1-2 games then I've seen from Dupuis all season.

markhmasters: RT @jonasTSN1050: Liles placed on IR with concussion-like symptoms.

I think we all knew this was coming.

Big loss there, most meaningful injury loss of the season IMHO.  Even more so then Reimer and the Connolly absences.

Not good. I guess the Leafs D will see if they get along without Liles and Komisarek for next season. Aulie has to step up and play like last season. Gardiner also has to keep playing well.

I wonder if we see Gysbers recalled to fill the offensive void left by Liles.  Depends on far Komi is off I guess if we see anybody recalled.

I'd prefer a 4th line that we can send out on the ice and not get scored on with, but I guess hustle is alright.

Who needs defensive responsibility when you've got hustle and, possibly, heart? ;)

Remember when Boyce cut his nose open? Stupid Dupuis' never done that.

Dupuis/Boyce, potato/potato... Though I still agree with Ern in that I want to see Ziggy back... Just to see. Yeah, I know he isn't the swiftest of foot but what's the worst that can happen? At the very worst, if his stinks, it might shut Cherry up about it, right?

He was good at face offs, the PK and is somewhat defensively responsible which would help the team in all 3 apsects.  He may not get many goals, but if he could help the team out those ways, I would take that in a heartbeat.

markhmasters: RT @jonasTSN1050 Liles remains with Leafs on road trip. Hoping to skate with team later in the week. Entirely dependent on how he feels.

Im hoping Komi can start where he left off before his injury.  He has been obvioulsy been better than most of last season and started doing the things he used to well with the Habs well again.  At his best he is  a top 4 Dman.  The Leafs were alot better off with him in the line up this season.  As much as I would like to see Lucic in a Leafs uniform (not going to happen) I would love more to see Komi give him some back after.  Perhaps that might get the Leafs going against Boston again.

Is there proof somewhere that Zigomanis is good on the PK?  Was he a key part of a good NHL PK at some point recently in his career?

He was arguably very good at the outset of last year in that regard. I know it was a very small sample size but either way, I'm not sure the history matters much. The way I see it, with the 29th ranked PK, what would it hurt to give him a look?
