When we're down 3-1, that's the standard.

Standards don't change because of the score. The whole point of a standard is that it's consistent.

The NHL's referees would like a word with you.

Seeing as Bodie was on the ice for 5 seconds, maybe leave him out there instead?  Orr has more ice-time than him as it is.

Maybe, but honestly the 4th line has shown a pretty decent amount of spark tonight, Orr excluded.

But that's what I mean.  I'm ok if you play the 4th line...but maybe not Orr in that situation.  Orr has been his usual useless self.  McClement and Ashton haven't been bad.  Put Bodie on the ice with them for a shift and see if he has any magic left in the stick.

I mean, I guess, but otherwise it just reads to me as following up a goal with a line that's been pretty good tonight.

If Reimer was faultless on it, and just a bad luck goal, why did RC pull him?

Because he allowed 4 goals and Carlyle hoped that maybe changing the goalies would provide a spark to a lacklustre team. He tried the exact same thing with Bernier on Thursday. That's a pretty standard coaching move, regardless of how infrequently is works.

Also, it wasn't so much a bad luck goal as it was a bad defence goal.

That's assuming they actually have standards, which, the more I watch of the league, the less I believe to be true.

How hard is it to get a shot on net on a 5 on 3. If Carlyle insists on using the same bunch on the PP tell them to shoot the puck. Pathetic. Did we even get a shot on net even after Wheeler came back on?

I honestly don't understand their 5 on 3 logic.  Why are they passing the puck for the entire 2-man advantage every single time?  Are they afraid of the goalie making a save and killing time?

Or else, you know, he thought to himself "He needed to make that save."

There have been plenty chances this season for him to pull a goalie after a bad goal where he hasn't. I don't see him suddenly starting now.

Shooting results in goals.  Passing results in a lot less goals, but every once in awhile it results in a very pretty one.
