Leafs @ Jets - Oct. 19th, 8:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

Plays like that will be the Leafs bread and butter on the PP this year. They just don't really have the shot on the point for that to be a threat. Need those east-west passes to click.

Woah. Don't see a call like that every day. But that's actually a really good call. But Matthias definitely had his hand on Matthews' stick. Auston couldn't do anything about it except to keep skating like he did.

I agree. What's really encouraging about calling Matthias for it is that it was pretty transparent attempt to draw a make-up call.

For those keeping score, those two goals were passes across the Royal Road.

Yep, and CTB is right on the mark regarding how they will be scoring on the PP.

Although Gardiner and Zaitsev, and maybe even Marincin, can bring it.

My main debate here this summer (other than Stammer), was how the Leafs didn't need yet ANOTHER tanking season.

Yeah.

Lets see how they are playing after 20 games before we make judgements on we want them to play.

Yeah.

Also a nice little bit of validation for people who thought Matthews would score 137 points this year. In your face, haters.

I love not seeing Jay McClement-types on the PK anymore. Hyman, Brown, Holland, Kadri. So different than what we used to see.

Bad pinch by Gardiner, thought the 2 on 1 could have been played better by both defenseman and goalie(I get the goalie wants to square up to the shooter but you have to leave open the possibility of the pass) but, yeah, well played by Winnipeg. Not much you can do there.
