Leafs @ Kings - Jan. 7th, 10:30pm - SNO, TSN 1050

I guess confidence that he's passed continually getting hurt and has returned to his stellar November form. Until that happens looks like Bernie and his play has supplanted him temporarily.

Full marks to the Leafs for battling a much better team so far.  But I suspect they'll run out of gas sooner or later.  The Kings' pace is intense and SOG are 13-2.

They have done a decent job not giving up awful scoring chances but the ice is slanted in their own zone.

Reimer's standing on his head, but man does he look so scrambly in net.  There have been a few times where it looked like he didn't know where the puck is.

Never mind Toffoli turns right into hit and somehow he gets 5 minutes....and a game?  Holy overkill.

Hmmm. Toffoli turned back.  Don't see that as a 5-minute major.

And a game?  BS.

EDIT: Give Muzzin a game for that.

Playing the Kings who seem to get away with an awful lot of clutching and holding on a back-to-back with 5 defensemen isn't going to end well.

Yeah I was all ready to bury Polak...but man Toffoli you turn back hard right as he's coming to you?

That was a double load of crap.

EDIT: I don't get what Kypreos and Friedman are saying about Polak enticing Toffoli.  Sounds like nonsense.

I have no issue with Toffoli trying to pivot back as he sees Polak lining him up, but if you're going to do that, don't face directly towards the boards for more than a split second.  I understand why Polak was called, but the onus is on the player to avoid putting himself in such a vulnerable position.  If anything, for long-term injury purposes.

Kadri was in all alone on that play...not sure why that wasn't a penalty shot call.

Phaneuf has been really good this year.  I never thought he could be effective for this long.  He's proven me wrong.  Good leadership too.
