My new nickname for Clarkson is "The Wet Blanket". That's his impact upon any line he's put on.

That is a very apt nickname supported by not only watching every tortured shift and woeful skating by Clarkson as well as unequivocal stats.

According to the boxscore...JVR and Kuli were on the line with Chokeson when the goal was scored. I'm not able to watch the game but that sounds like a very odd line combo. No way should JVR be sharing the same ice with someone who stifles any kind of offense if that truly is the case and not just a tsn error.

Good goal by Phaneuf there.  What a play by Rielly to fight for the puck after getting nailed on the boards.

Think it was after an icing and they got caught out there like that.

Ok Bernier, time to step up.  Shut these guys down the rest of the way and I think we sneak out with a win.

Carlyle would be wise to make that a permanent pairing on the PP.

Agree.  Pairing him with Franson is just too slowy-scary.

A friend and I have been saying this for awhile. Gardiner and Rielly split between the two pp units so that you have a mobile d-man plus a d-man with a good shot. Rielly and Gardiner are natural PP QB's.
