Leafs @ Panthers - Jan. 12th, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

Didn't see the entire game but looks like the JT line struggled again? JT -3, Willy -4.
Just watched the highlights..yeah Freddie didn't have a great game but you can't leave guys alone in front of the net and give guys clear uncontested looks. Team just wasn't good enough in front of him tonight.

Like you, I missed the first 2 periods but when I watched the replays I couldn't believe the lax defensive play (if you could even call it defensive play) on those first 2 goals. On the later goals the goalies didn't look great but those two early goals weren't on Freddy.

Very disturbing that in such an important game, against a team the Leafs will probably be fighting for that 3rd playoff spot, they came out so flat. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call.

I really can?t stand these games with Greg Millen.  He?s factually inaccurate constantly and I really don?t care to listen to a guy who has more interest in being negative about crap for no reason.
I find it really hard to believe that Millen is the best commentator that Sportsnet can find for Leafs games.  It's such a treat listening to Ray Ferraro's insights and observations on TSN, and by contrast it's so incredibly tedious listening to Millen.  He brings so little to the broadcasts, and really makes a bad game like this even worse to watch.

This was being billed as one of those important games, maybe even a test, too.  Hmm.  Looks like the Leafs are not yet ready when it counts the most.  We can look at it this way, or we can say that it was just one of those games, the team will regroup and toss this one out the proverbial window.

Which one?  The latter, hopefully.

Problem is we have far too many of those games. Bottom line is defence sucks, forwards are soft, lazy and horrible defensively. How long before management figures out some changes need to be made? Thought things would improve with Keefe defensively so figured I'd give him some time but he's had enough and I don't see any improvements.
Dubas just sitting idle and not addressing it but hey resign Marincin cuz that helps.
Defence needs to be tweaked and forwards need to be held accountable. Tavares has been horrendous. Goaltending hasn't been there but Freddy can only hold the fort for so long.
Sportsnet article summed it up. If the Leafs are to survive the postseason gauntlet, defensive depth must be addressed by the trade deadline. U created this mess Dubas. Fix it.

Yeesh, glad I missed it.  Well, I hope they at least had a few nice umbrella drinks during their Florida vacay.

And yes, the recent streak notwithstanding the defense still needs a-fixin.

The strip clubs in Miami must be pretty good.

I missed the game, but it sounds like I missed another fun goaltending adventure based on the xG tracking and shot share after score adjustment.

I only watched the first period and I can say confidently that the goaltending wasn't great but the team defensive play was even worse. Consistent odd man rushes caused by poor decisions. It looked very similar to the first 6 or 7 games of Keefe's time behind the bench where the team could score at will but couldn't stop a team from scoring because they were playing shinny.
