Leafs @ Penguins - Nov 16th - 7:00 pm - CBC

Well, Chris and Elliotte sure seem to think it's possible Babs might not be getting on that plane to Lost Wages tonight.

I can just smell the comeback.

You're smelling something, all right.  The sweet aroma of putrefaction.
Smelling or smoking?

Honest question, are both of you guys such miserable humourless pricks that you couldn't read that as a joke?

For frig's sakes guys, it's a hockey game. This place used to be a fun place to talk about the game even when the Leafs weren't going well.

Maybe you missed my earlier comment where I said that you, Nik, are fun?  :)
Smells like....

Hmm, teams are calling about Barrie...that's nice to know for down the road.

I'd be picking up that phone.  I didn't even think about how he has to be considering what this is doing to his UFA value.

So what to do first...fire Babcock and see if Keefe can right the ship? Or take the best offer on Barrie and bring up Sandin? Certainly looks to me like whatever message Babcock is preaching, isn't being received anymore.

I think it's important to note that about Tavares. For all the talk about the young guys and their salaries Tavares is getting paid like he's one of the best players in the league and right now watching Malkin it really doesn't look like Tavares is in that class.

I actually think they're just playing unsustainably poorly. It's on the players, it's not a coaching problem. The coaches are all very good hockey guys, and are not telling them to forego checking assignments and to allow the goalies to only save .8.

I know its not good to rush defencemen but I said it couple weeks ago our best Dman first 10 games was sent to the minors. Kid made less mistakes than the top 4.

Sure, but he has always played at that level, and we're talking about a 10 game sample here.

When did Sandin become a good defensive defenseman?  I also don't see how Keefe can help. These guys just can't or won't play defense.

I don't think it's true that he's always played at the level where you'd have to say he's one of the very best players in the game. I actually think that's more the exception than the rule.
