Robertson has been moved to the active roster and Barabanov is out. Seeing it isn't an off day I think Robertson will be in tonight. I hope he gets some reps with the top line.
Barabanov looks so tiny out there, I don't know what he brings to the table honestly. At least Robertson can score and you can put him up in the lineup if need be.
Barabanov plays with some grit, like Hyman but has absolutely no finish. Roberston will be an upgrade, need Engvall back for the PK.

How do you know that Barabanov has no finish?

If anything, the least impressive forward in the whole group is Vesey. And he's actually been put in a position to really impress. it's early, but if we're going to start shuffling things, it should start there. I also think Mikheyev is the guy that should be jumping up the line up.

Agreed 100% with the last part. I don't know why more people aren't impressed with him.

Vesey's got some size and is a known quantity. Why are we giving that much credit to a small, low scoring mystery box?

Interesting... Is this how they keep 3 goalies? Or maybe they trade Freddy for some assets at some point. I can't see him staying another year.

There's nothing interesting here. Don't overthink it.

Again, I agree with this. I hope he changes my mind but Vesey has done nothing, other then scoring an empty net goal, to impress me.

Not dressing Freddy isn't interesting from both a cap and personnel perspective imo as they were taking about not being able to bring a body up without losing Dell. The purpose of the forum is to talk about the Leafs is it not? If I'm "overthinking" it I'd rather discuss with someone who can give some insight.

This might be one of the few benefits of carrying 3 goalies. Let?s Andersen have a complete night off. I wouldn?t read much more into it than that right now. Wouldn?t shock me if they scratch Campbell occasionally for the same reasons.

Sorry just trying to wrap my head around the issue of people thinking that Dell will get claimed on waivers. Is this solely if they tried to bring up a body they would be up against the cap and need to send someone down, and it would likely be Dell?

Given the rate at which goalies are being claimed, I don?t see Dell hitting the waiver wire any time soon - just so that the team has a 3rd string goalie they feel they can rely on at the NHL level.

Yes, with the current cap situation, the Leafs need to demote a player to recall one, but, as we saw today, they can swap out Barabanov/Robertson/etc. first. I have to imagine all the Leafs? goalies are staying put for the foreseeable future.

So you didn't like my answer and you want to discuss what insight exactly? Trading Freddie? As for the article you quoted, there is no insight to Dell dressing as backup other then it gives Freddie a whole night off and gets Dell on the bench.

It was a tweet, not an article. I had a question about the waiver and scratch rules/chatter about Dell being claimed (keeping 3 goalies up) and speculated about Freddy. Being shut down for no reason is pretty irksome.

Anyway question was answered by Busta. Moving on.

Common AHL practice. Playing backup still means going through the work of preparing to play and staying mentally engaged on the bench. A full night off (plus another tomorrow) and getting a birds eye view of our defense (lol) is helpful.
