Leafs @ Sharks - Jan. 15th, 10:30pm - TSN, Fan 590

So San Jose players are still climbing onto the bench and Hertl comes on the ice and gets a partial breakaway because of it.  Ummm...and then McGinn runs Reimer in the blue paint and that's ok.

Sharks have taken over a bit the last few minutes.

Whole period really. If it's anything like the 1st period though the next 10 minutes will be all-Leafs.

Although 3 games in 4 nights against a team that is rested doesn't bode well for the second half of the game.

Polak's lucky that didn't count as a goal.  I thought the rule was if a defending player takes the net off and there is a goal that it is up to the discretion of the refs if it will be called a goal.

I know he's not really doing it, but I always grimace when they show that kid drinking the sauce in the Swiss Chalet commerical.

Can't make the right call on Sharks' 2nd goal, but give Polak delay of game there.

I thought McKenzie made a good case that Sharks goal was fine. Whoever it was didn't really push Reimer into the net, it was nothing like that Malkin goal awhile back at least. And he was also able to attempt to whack at the puck as long as it was loose, which it definitely was.

I think the rule is that the player has to be in the act of shooting when the net is dislodged.

Sharks outshooting the Leafs 14-2 in the period.  The Leafs hit a post and had two or three cross-ice deflection/shot/tap-ins that just missed the net but they really need to find a way to push back.  This period has been all San Jose.

Poor Reimer.  The Leafs start controlling shot totals and he's still going to face 30+ shots.

Well I mean how wasn't it exactly this?

Rule 69.3 If an attacking player initiates contact with a goalkeeper, incidental or otherwise, while the goalkeeper is in his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed.

The Sharks player initiated contact with Reimer by pushing his stick into Reimer's pads.
