Lecavalier Bought Out

.Oh, let Philly eat cake.  Who really cares about Lecavalier.  Yes, he could have helped the Leafs, blah, blah, blah.  It's pretty obvious that his destination of interest or choice was never Toronto in the first place.

There are plenty of other players on the market Leafs can potentially sign (as has already been mention elsewhere on these boards) -- Clarkson, Ference, Horton, Weiss, Gordon, etc.  At the very least, even re-sign Bozak if the price is right). Whatever.

How the hell does Philly keep convincing guys to go to that market?

Ugh.

What a meh city, populated in large part by scumbag sports fans.

What more can you say about that team.. they just never cease to amaze when it comes to decisions on UFA's and those player's decisions to be attracted to that team.  Probably a great place when the going is good but if those fans turn on you, look out.  The sheer amount of cash they have pissed away on UFA's or other contracts that haven't worked out is mind boggling.

Their decision to dump Briere and replace with Lecavs is pretty nonsensival.  Tie up money you just freed up in an another older player, when you already have strength up the middle. Just ignore the goalie thing because who needs a goalie, right?

I liked Lecavs - for the Leafs - but Philli? Makes no sense and doesn't come close to addressing any kind of priority they should have.  How about that awful defense or replacing that Pronger guy? Should that not be the focus? A goalie? Oh man I hope they go after the ancient Tim Thomas who hasn't played in a year.  Of course 40 year old goalies are just great after taking a year off.  ::)

I hope this all blows up in their faces... again.
