Lightning @ Maple Leafs - Oct. 21st, 7:30pm - Amazon Prime, TSN 1050

This is extremely ridiculous. My wife just looked at me and said "this is boring"

How about actually showing the warm up not random crowd shots. One of favourite parts about going is watching the pregame and the player routines and screwing around with the puck.

I can't believe someone thought the audience would actually enjoy this nonsense

I imagine the idea was "well our show doesn't actually start until 7:30pm so let's just throw some easy and cheap to produce content on for 45 minutes before that".

It probably would have made more sense for a 7pm start game. And I would have certainly liked more of a look at the actual warmup stuff as opposed to close up shots of players staring into the distance. Don't totally hate the idea though. Something different.

Better then listening to sportsnet. Don't mind it at all. Trying to give the home audience the feeling of being there would be my guess.
Imagine trying to grow the audience like this? Someone that hasn't watched hockey before throws on Prime to see what it's all about and they get no commentary, you have no idea who players are or what they're doing. They watch for a minute and decide to stream something else

Please. The broadcast was advertised to start at 7:30 and it did. Imagine having to watch SN for 1/2 hour listening to their bullshit?

Fair point on the start time, but they had a prominent link right as you launch Prime so a lot of people would have clicked through on that before 7:30 and seen a whole lot of nothing

Strange take. If they tune in super early why would they expect content? I would have assumed a title screen and that's about it.
