Maple Leafs in the market for a new Goalie

And I think it'd be fair to say he's been exposed a little bit over that stretch. I'm just saying that I think the "mental issues" talk is linked to these ten games and leaving aside whether or not that sort of talk can ever be legitimate it's almost certainly premature here.

There's evidence of focus issues and other problems on the mental side of the game that go back to the beginning of his stint with the Leafs. They appear to have become more serious now, but it's not a new thing.

You will forgive me if I'm dubious about evidence of "focus issues".

There's no mystery here.  You can read the fear in his eyes every time they do one of those goalie close-ups.  It's Dick-and-Jane-level psychoanalysis, really.  "See Jonathan panic.  Panic, Jonathan, panic."

Also, any qualified phrenologist will tell you he's got the forehead lines of a worrywart.

Or somebody who flunked World Affairs 101.

Either way, my prescription is a dram of leeches. That ought to clear his hysterical humors.

"You can tell, and we'll slow it down here, by the way he blinks during the national anthem.  There's something there that says 'I'm not ready for this. I'm nervous.'  It's plain as day." - Glenn Healy

No, but isn't it telling that you had to ask?

Or a nephrenologist, who would certainly find his urine smells of fear and loathing.

It is indeed.  Nicely channeled!

I think the Leafs need to draft and develop their own starting goaltender.  In the meantime, they need to find an adequate starter that can be had for a cheap price.

I can't see management doing another Bernier trade in hopes of securing a top flight starter.

JMHO.

Perhaps they did draft that Goalie in the 7th round a few years back.  Or Bibeau if not! Lets not give up more high picks for people like Vesa Bernier.

I think it's still early, but we have found our new goalie... no more young talent, or picks, for experienced average goalie.
