Because, you know, this team going into a defensive shell has worked wonders so far this season.

They really learned nothing from game 7.

Man, I sure wouldn't mind Phil Kessel looking like an 8 million dollar a year player right now.

Shots were 13-5 in the first. I don't know if that can be attributed to anything specific.

I don't know.  It seems to be a pretty consistent story though.  They play well.  Tie/get a lead and then immediately stop playing aggressive offensively.

I know on the whole that they are prone to getting horribly outshot, but there is a noticeable difference in the style of play once they get that goal.

Phaneuf should have drawn a 4-minute PP.  Kessel gets crosschecked late in the period.

I hope it didn't take anyone of you this long to see that unlike management.

I just don't think that's true. I think they play that conservative style throughout the game and I certainly don't think that you can say that either Toronto goal was the result of aggressive play.

It was just a stretch where they got badly outshot which happens to them fairly regularly.

What does that look like, exactly?

Carrying the play, creating pressure by means of puck possession even if there aren't clear avenues to the net, displaying versatility and being an effective player even if your one go-to move isn't available...a little bit like how Zetterberg looked in the last five minutes there.

I don't really understand that one.  I get the full periods, but they probably should have just played the 5 minutes without the split.
