Nonis using depth to go shopping....

I still think the Leafs have a couple AHL defencemen that will be coming along next year and at least one of Fradriborne's will be up too. Tough to say what or who but they should at least look at rolling over a couple spots, one d, one wing.

Well, at least you have like 8 hours of hockey related TV to watch, even if it's not all that interesting. :-\

Spend your day being uplifted by reading the forum.  A barium enema for the mind.

.. and miss all those awkward moments where sports media personalities (some of which who undoubtedly make it public record they'd rather be somewhere else) fumble to try to tell us something we haven't already heard between the cavernous gaps in the action?

My friends and I will be having our third annual deadline day breakfast feast. We plan to load up on standard breakfast fare then veg out watching the deadline coverage. You should try that.

I would need friends... and some eggs.

Kinda glad I'm working through the deadline, I hope to be pleasantly surprised when I check in now and then.

I do hope Burke decides on a direction for them one way or the other, make some good hockey trade or fire the coach or re-sign Grabo is a deal can't be had, just stop wandering aimlessly like we have been for the past two weeks.  To be clear I don't want him doing anything knee-jerk, but I do think he has enough information to try and steer the ship back in the right direction (at least partially) one way or the other tomorrow.

I think Burke does something big.  Maybe not Nash big but I think he can find a few teams who need a shakeup as much as the Leafs do and not just buy from the true deadline sellers.

Brian Burke does not expect to make a deal to address goaltending saying they have full confidence in James Reimer. #Sntrade

Makes sense.  Gus had a horrific game but "saved the season".  Reimer has been crap aside from a two game stretch.  I'd have all the confidence in him too!

From the rest of his tweets it sounds like Burke probably said that after he revealed they had turned down a deal for Reimer.  Was probably just said in the context of why they didn't trade Reimer.
