Doesn't seem that outrageous. A guy like Jack Hughes might be good enough to really speed up a rebuild.

The Duchene trade is probably worst then the Kessel trade, at least we got to keep him a while and eventually flipped him for Kappi. I am interested to see what a Duchene trade will yield.

If that pick turns into Jack Hughes, and they receive nothing substantial back for Duchene, then yeah, it would be far worse than the Kessel deal. You could make a case that it already is as Duchene has only played a season and a half there while Kessel was 6 years of productive hockey with the Leafs and like you mentioned we turned Kessel into Kapanen (and Andersen with that first round pick from the Pens)

I'm gonna laugh so hard if the sens' indecision here causes them to get nothing (or little) for Stone.

This doesn't make sense in any way. Stone and Duchene were both assistant captains on the team. The sens tried hard to re-sign both players. Stone almost certainly would have been named captain if he re-signed. Why on earth would you make this claim?

Yeah, none of it really makes sense. I think most hockey fans understand that rebuilding involves trading away players, so why make a big show of trying to say that you went all out to sign all of your UFA's? Is it a committed rebuild or not?

I actually feel bad for that fanbase.
This guy and Melnyk are likely the worst 2 guys in the league at PR.
