Official Ottawa Senators Thread

$1.05mil. Decent enough value signing for them I guess.

Always sorta liked Galch. I think he was the guy I wanted the Leafs to pick in 2012 before the Habs picked him. Obviously worked out for us (as an aside if anyone has time to kill check out the 2012 draft thread to see how many of us hated the Rielly pick at the time). This will be his 5th team in 4 seasons now.

Great value if he can get back to being a 15-20 goal, ~45 point guy. If he plays well, they've essentially signed themselves some future draft pick(s).

I think I can be confident that I had nothing bad to say about picking Morgan Rielly.

Uh sure.

A quote, from no one in particular:

The Leafs have a glut of defensive prospects and are extremely thin when it comes to top 6 centers who can actually fill the #1 role... The Leafs need a guy who can fill that role because they sure as hell haven't been able pick up anything good in free agency to this point.

Oh how things have changed.

That was fun going through that thread. I was down on Rielly(wrong) but wanted the Leafs to go with Forsberg(also wrong but less wrong).

Girgensons, Grigorenko, Faksa...Reinhart really couldn't cut it after all.

Unreal. We're two weeks away from the province having no ICU capacity and this dillweed is concerned about attendance for a 4th tier hockey team.

You know, yesterday Bettman said that the league's losses this year would be in the Billions and that it would be cheaper not to play the year but despite that I thought "Well, the distraction of the season may be useful right now" but if owners are going to be publicly lobbying to hold mass indoor gatherings I'd rather the season just be canceled.

uh, this might not have been the best day to talk about this.

Did he delete the tweet?

Seems like it, yeah. It was basically him boasting about their plan to safely host 6,000 fans in their arena when allowed.

I was similar when football (soccer) started back up in the uk. I actually managed to get to a game of my local team here in Belfast which was just a delight. About the only 2 hours of ?normality? I?ve experienced since last March (allowing for the distancing in the stadium and masks etc).

Equally I had enjoyed having football from the Premier League to look forward to on TV, even being a Newcastle fan and thus that hit actually being the most attractive of propositions.

But I have to say, the way things are escalating even more here now, I do feel a bit of a moral debate about whether sport should be being played. It is good to have something to look forward to, but....

Yeah, I had a quick look at it when it was active...Melnyk really doesn't know how to read a room.

Knowing Melnyk he'd probably jack up the prices by 4 times to try and get as much money as possible
