TSNBobMcKenzie: Rumor is OTT is trading Nick Foligno to OTT for Marc Methot.

I know it's early to call a winner but I'm going to have to go with Ottawa.

I'm not sure. Methot's a good defensive guy, but he's injury prone. Expecting much more than 60 games from him is unrealistic. Foligno, on the other hand, looks like he could be a solid secondary scorer and brings a good physical presence. I'd be inclined to side with the Jackets on this one.

I think he meant in the tweet, Bmac said Ottawa is trading with Ottawa. :P

If we get Suter, all will be forgiven.

So far though, I don't like anything Murray's done today.

EDIT: Helluva contract for Carkner, though.    Happy for him, but that's too much money over too long a term for a defenseman who should be spending half the season in the press box.

ian_mendes: Murray confirms Nash wouldn't waive NTC to come to Ottawa. "There was no sense in chasing - we didn't feel that was necessary."

Couple of cheap depth pick-ups, tough to see Foligno go but I really like the Methot trade, he'll fit in to our top 4 nicely.

Marc Methot
