So Woll stopped that one before the clock went to zero but it wouldn't have gone in the net before the puck went to zero. Does that still count as a shot?

Big 2 points after losing 3 in a row. Not a great defensive effort but Woll was good and the offense is clearly better when we have two too 6 forwards back
 
I still think Matthews isn't fully 100%. He deferred a couple of times when he looked like had a decent look. But can't fault him overall.

It should be a shot because he saved it before time ran out.

Eh, he is doing his job to his strengths. Hockey media likes to moralize DZ play as the reason teams win, even though offense generation is far more impactful.

He won the puck despite being lazy and could’ve flipped one on net, but decided to free it up for a Tavares chance, and JT promptly skates it into more traffic.
 
So I'm having difficulty figuring out if we are just THAT much slower (and sloppier) than Edmonton or if the last two periods is more of product of the collapsing, defensive, protecting the lead system that's trying to be instilled. Cuz....that was brutal

3-0 lead is really a bad lead. Leafs were fine till the zebras decided to call some cheap ass penalties to give Edm some momentum. They get the early one in the 3rd and sat back a little again. Some lazy plays in our D zone and they were scrambling. Not ideal but it seems to be the case with a lot of teams when they get up 2 or 3 zip.
 
Kudos to Woll. The kid's face looked stunned after giving up back to back goals on some semi weak pizzas.... and then he came up with super clutch acrobatic saves when the entire team infront of him collapsed.
