Panthers @ Leafs - Jan. 30th, 7:00pm - SN, SN 590

Everytime I watch the Leafs I am equally amazed that Colton Orr is in the NHL.  He is an ankle bender.

And now the Leafs go to the PK, this team sometimes..the panthers suck.

So which friggin team shows up tonight...... :-X

Looks like the one that has really struggled with the Panthers for 2 of the previous 3 seasons.

Shades of having the PVR delayed by 5 minutes....this team is just so hard to emotionally invest in.

If this was a Tuesday game, I would probably be worried about a loss. Since it is Thursday, I am going to be positive and call for a Leafs win.

How about we spot them a goal or two? Still feel the same? ;)

If they give up 40 SOG against these guys Carlyle should be deported.  Let him pursue his profession in Uzbekistan.

As I posted earlier, Panthers are 18-16-3 under their new coach (37 games).

In the Leafs last 37 games they are 17-15-5.

Not much separating the two teams right now.

I am more of a big picture guy: 13 point difference.

Jesus, another penalty to Gleason.  This has not been a good start.

Wow, Bernier wasn't even close, noodle shot.  Ben Bishop was really good at getting the puck up.  I can't understand how an NHL goalie can't shot the puck with any authority, and you see lots of them.

That's a bad penalty call:

When any player, while in his defending zone, shoots or bats (using his hand or his stick)  the puck directly (non-deflected) out of the playing surface, except where there is no glass, a penalty shall be assessed for delaying the game. When the puck is shot into the players? bench, the penalty will not apply. When the puck is shot over the glass ?behind? the players? bench, the penalty will be assessed.

If the Panthers had any consistent offensive ability, this would be shaping up to be a really long night.

Luckily, they don't.  That PP really is 9.2% material.

So because it was off his shoulder?

Rule says nothing about putting it out of play other than with stick or hand.

I don't know. It looked pretty intentional to me. That one might have been a penalty before the current rule was put into action.

You're right.
