Even when Domi gets the puck in motion, he still skates to a standstill
It's crazy how he stops especially in the D zone. MJ said the bench was yelling skate at him in the 1st. He's going to be a work in progress.

He looks nervous.

Hella nervous. I'll give Domi a little more rope than the others. Coming to Toronto to play in your home town is usually tough enough. Doing it when your dad is Tie Domi brings unheard of pressure.

His Dad may have looked better. Could have saved a bit on the AAV as well.

Rielly shooting the puck with Matthews and Nylander on the ice....what a terrible 6 on 4

Surprise you with this team? I thought adding Klingberg with his shot would help the PP but yet to see it.

Positives: McCabe played like we want him to.  Marner woke up.  Samsonov played like an NHL goalie the last two periods.

They're already leaning on Matthews too much.  I like his PK work but not sure about the added TOI.

Leafs played a good game overall. McCabe had a good game. Sammy needed that 2nd goal. Other then that he played well. They probably deserved to win but whatever. Matthews is pretty good at hockey.

Leafs looked better after the 1st. I thought Knies had his best game in the top-6, was a little surprised he was moved to the 3rd line in the 3rd period in favour of Gregor. The defence makes a lot more sense after the Liljegren/Klingberg swap. Keefe seems to have realized Minten isn't a NHL so it's certainly a when not if he gets sent back to the WHL at this point. Kampf doubled his season total in defensive zone face-offs in this game so that's something, but he still had EIGHT in the offensive zone (tied with Matthews and Marner) while the Tavares/Nylander line had just 2. Matthews and Marner together is almost unfair to opposing PPs... the Leafs actually out corsi'd Florida 3-2 in his 2:34 PK minutes tonight, but I do agree with ZBBM that I'm not sure he can play 24+ minutes every night. Sammy is still fighting it, but hey that's goaltending baby.

Kampf played mostly with Domi and Bert and he played much better. So did Domi. I don't understand why Keefe wasn't using Kampf in the D zone. Maybe because of Reeves? Can't have the 4th line starting in the O zone that much.
Minten isn't ready. Maybe time to call up Holmberg or maybe McMann and try Domi as 3C. Leafs have to get some secondary scoring.  And M&M are killing it 4v5
