Playoffs Round 2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers

L K said:
Round 1 - Holl on for 14 of 21 Tampa goals
Round 2 - McCabe on for 8 of 10 Florida goals

I knew McCabe (and Brodie) haven't been great in this series but didn't realize it was that bad. Would probably be for the best to split that pair up for the rest of the series, however long that might be.

So what's everyone's confidence in a possible 4 game win streak to move on? I feel like it really isn't going to happen but there is still the smallest part of me saying, "It COULD happen!" The feeling is similar to when you buy a lottery ticket. You know you aren't going to win, but there is still that feeling that you never know.

The Jekyll and Hyde nature of this team at times is there.  May the Game 2 vs. Tampa Bay version of the Leafs show up for the rest of the playoffs.

Hope springs eternal. It's always there somewhere, but no. Even if they win game 4, they'd have to win three more times. How are they suddenly going to be a different team for that long?

I think the Leafs just wanted to guarantee that they would play in a game 7 this playoff and the second round is the perfect spot to do that.

The ultimate most epic rope-a-dope.

Wait Harden is still with the team? I thought he got dropped from the management page?

The article says he's not with the team now, but maintains relationships with the players. So I guess they call him when they're down?

Certainly not travelling with the team on a game by game basis (I don't think it was ever that sort of arrangement); I thought he was no longer on the payroll even as a consultant. Siegel notes that Harden's "official role, which continues with the club to this day, is that of a 'peak performance coach'."

Nice title. Would have meant something much different in the 90s!

Greg Harden will need his own high performance mentor after dealing with the Leafs and not seeing the same results that Brady got lol.

Thought we might see some more changes up front, but I like the D moves.

Stick JT on the wing and let Willy play C.  What the hell, why not.

This is your dream coach here? Think ?BIGGER?!

Leafs win 8 straight starting tomorrow.

There are two approaches to playoff pressure:
https://twitter.com/JClipperton_CP/status/1656003691181219851
https://twitter.com/bruce_arthur/status/1656002133492154368

I would go with:
Jarnkrok - Matthews - Nylander
Tavares - O'Reilly - Marner
Bunting - Kerfoot - Acciari
Kampf - Lafferty

Rielly - Schenn
Brodie - Holl
McCabe - Liljegren
Gustafsson

Woll

Mitch's "Don't care what you guys say" T-shirt has people asking a lot of questions already answered by his shirt.

One response sounds tight, and one sounds loose. Will be interesting to see how these two preform tomorrow now.

I think Marner's answer should relate to Nylander's DZone work, and Nylander's should translate to Marner's o-zone. Then we'll get going.

I still selfishly want to see Simmonds terrorizing the D for a few shifts.

I see your lines and I raise you:

Bunting - Matthews - Jarnkrok
Nylander - Tavares - Marner
Lafferty - O'Reilly - Acciari
ZAR - Kampf - Simmonds

Rielly - Schenn
Brodie - Liljegren
McCabe - Holl
