I can?t stress how much I hate Foligno.  He blatantly tripped Rielly near the boards.  That wasn?t even remotely an attempt at a play on the puck.  If it was a cross check on that play it?s a major for boarding.  Meanwhile he?s jawing at Rielly the whole time after doing it.

I've hated him since his Sudbury Wolves days. Always been a rule-skirter, borderline dirty bassturd.

He plays with an edge. Like many players. That was definitely a penalty on Rielly. A very dangerous one. That being said, I like Foligno's game but I'm a homer.

I actually had a ?Have a great summer? sardonic yearbook signing post at around the 16 min mark of the third, but the post got held up by barney_rebel posting a ?we rule man?.

This is a remarkable difference in contrast to the broadcast

Does anyone know the significance of the one Jacket player holding up his hand to his ear after scoring and saying "call me"?

I would of jumped him

Okay, I'll bite, I don't know the significance.

Leafs are the first team in NHL history to comeback 3 goals with less than five minutes left in an elimination playoff game.

The A hole got what he deserved.

Karma, hockey gods whatever you want to call it. Hopefully the Leafs can pull it out Sunday and move on. One little advantage is last change, not that it meant much the first 4 games. All in all though the Leafs have outplayed CBJ. Their goalies have bailed them out.

Definitely. I'm still not wild about how Keefe has coached this series; I think he's set the Leafs up for failure by not adjusting the team's approach to CBJ's unique style.

I don't know how this is on Keefe and not on the players.

This was after the sort out where Marner centres the puck into the slot with our net empty into Matthews/Nylander that nearly iced the game the other way.

Definitely lots of positives and negatives to go around, but Keefe has done an abysmal job of countering a team that does nothing but defend and produce on mistakes. The defence still making risky pinches with a 3-0 lead two games ago was absolutely unexcusable, yet it happened constantly. With wingers that were supposed to cover deep behind the opposition hash marks.

Heh, a chance to both slag Marner and praise Nylander in the same post? It's pleasure overload!

I don't know.. would Babcock have done any better?  Maybe this group of players has trouble remembering what the coaches are telling them (or trying to tell them).

If you listen to any of the podcasts breaking down the game yesterday they credit Keefe with basically trying everything to get the team going. I still don't know how this is on Keefe.

I highly doubt Keefe tells the D: Make risky pinches. That's on the players.

My son watch's most of the games with me. I think we would all agree that most games that one player is dogging it and then we turn on our verbal vitriol on the unhearing Leaf. Strange but usually within a minute or two the guy will make a great play or score. Like clockwork.
So last night I said to my son, they are all playing like shit, so let's diss em all: Nylander, Hyman, Tavares, Marner and Rielly had, a diatribe for about half a minute.
Dammit it worked, they all became the superstars they are.  In almost 60 years watching this team, I have never seen anything like it.
Don't care if they win the next one, really I don't. Of course I would be delighted but last night this team showed the character than all said we're lacking.  They didn't give up.  And neither should we.

This is a good attitude.

Marner got three points on the night and I don?t know that he did anything in particular that was Mitch Marner 10.8M special. His defense at least has been semi good. His do-too-much sequence leading to a penalty, but also led to Werenski?s apparent injury shutting him down for the night so maybe he won us the game after all.

My sons too young to understand the yelling at the TV during games. He just thinks his dad has lost his mind, but hey. Whatever works . Lol
