R1, G4: sens vs. Maple Leafs - Apr. 26th, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

I'd have liked to see more sustained zone time, they are over dumping when they've zero chance of recovery.

That being said, I think you kinda have to be the village idiot to fault them in this game in any significant way.

They shut the Sens down for the vast majority of the game and just didn't get the bounces.

If they maintain this level of defensive attention to detail, I find it hard to believe they won't beat the Sens in 5 or 6 fairly comfortably.

Patches isn't a threat to score and 74 has been not so good if we're being honest
I mean in fairness, Patches arguably had the best scoring chance in OT and Kleven knocked the puck out of the air from going in the net after Ullmark made a fantastic partial save

I'm fine if they play the same lineup again in Game 5 but if they lose Game 5 I want Robertson in the lineup for sure over Patches

After a night of sleep and a little reflection it's my opinion this team is still the Leafs of old, capable of playing well but still suspect, giving up a shorty, wasted 4 minute PP and Stolarz really has to have the game winner, the more they change this team the more it stays the same and if they play like this in round 2 it's lights out.

That elbow to Tavares head should be a penalty, it was worse than the Domi penalty.

I agree, 67 should be out, 89 should be in and 74 needs to step up.

That Patches chance was in the 3rd period after Berube put Holmberg on that line which he had no choice because of how bad L3 has been 5v5.
L3 with Patches , McMann and Domi got destroyed last night. They had ZERO scoring chances and had 17 against, (10 scoring, 7 high danger). In 2 games the 67,11,74 line has 0 goals for, 2 against and has given up 24 chances against, (16 scoring, 8 high danger) and had 5 chances for, (1 high danger). By contrast, 89, 11, 74 have 1 goal for, 1 against and only given up 3 scoring chances, (1 high danger) and have had 3 chances for. Now I'm not laying all this on Patches but you have to admit, the back check isn't remotely the same without 89 and L3 overall has been a disaster since the change.

67 plays heavier than 89, but not a lot of good it's doing the last two games. Patches is just too slow.

Also, can 11 be fired into the sun? It seems as though with Domi, you have to take the good with the bad. Earlier in the series he scores the OT winner. Last night takes a completely stupid penalty which led to a goal.

Speed isn't there with 67. I'd put 89 back on L3 move 29 to 4C and Laughton to 2LW. Domi is brain dead at times. There was a play in the 3rd and a decent chance and instead of going to the open spot, he skated behind Holmberg I believe literally taking himself out of the play. Head scratcher lol

Robertson needs to be in the lineup. He just needs to control his stick and carelessness. Regardless if Ullmark gets hot and Sens sneak out another win it can go either way. Funny series. I don’t think we are deserving to be up 3-1 but they definitely should have won last night. Matthews needs to play like he did down the stretch when he took over games. I haven’t been pleased with his game.

Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok has been good. I'd be hesitant to mess with it. I would swap out 67 for 89 and possibly sit Domi and put 64 in the middle. At least 64 isn't a moron and is better defensively.
